Live wire
I have a bulb out in my gauge cluster ( Oil/clock/volt ) I will change it soon and would like to know if there is a convenient "always live" or "live when running" wire that I can tap into when I have the cluster out. I can't stand having the power cord for my sat nav trailing down over the gear lever to the cigarette lighter and would like to locate a power pint in the glove box or the area underneath it. Since I will have the cluster out it seems a good time to set this up. The wire should be able to carry sufficient current to charge the GPS
The Jaguar solution is an Auxilliary Power Socket which can be installed in the glovebox and/or the luggage compartment.

No need to go to Jaguar for it. The equivalent parts are readily available.

It's tucked up high on the outboard side of the glove box and you need to remove the glove box to get at it. The wires to it are Black - Ground, White/Red - switched live and Brown/Green - battery live. Standard insulated Lucar connectors fit the three blade connectors inside the main black body.
