Local list of tools to lend other members?
Would it be a good or bad idea to have a thread for those folks willing to lend Jag tools to other jag owners in their location? Like I have lots of tools that I used a few times on the Jag and they are sitting there not doing much. Maybe there are other members in my part of town that would like to borrow them.
Maybe this is a bad idea. IDK.

Kinda weird don't you think? I'm in Los Angeles and there has to be any number of guys wanting to do a timing chain guide work and needing a cam lock down tool. Or an EVAP smoke machine, or a crank turning tool, or coil spring compressor kit. Maybe we can have a sticky where members offer tools to lend? Moderators . . . .

I'd definitely discourage including contact details. We can all contact each other using Private Message so there's no need to give the internet trawling spammers any assistance with eMail addresses or numbers.

We applaud your efforts but you might take a look at this for your tool needs. This summer JCNA and the Foundation entered an agreement to consolidate the tool loan programs. In its 7th year tools have been successfully loaned through out North America. The list attached is not up to date as many new tools have been added to the collection. There is little that is not held for SS and Jaguar Cars including test equipment for cars up to 2010. To see the catalogs (factory) go to www.jcna.com and click tool loan or to see the current PDF of tools go to https://www.jcna.com/sites/default/f...2004162017.pdf,
Both organizations are allowed to only loan factory tools to either members or patrons due to insurance requirements.
We are not the first to offer tool loans but it is the first successful program for Jaguar tools. The main reason is the extent of holdings and a DEPOSIT requirement. I suggest if you continue you use a deposit also to prevent abuse of the tools or their loss.
Again best of luck and BTW the Foundation has long had a goal of establishing a separate facility on the West coast with a library and tool loan capability. We are moving rapidly toward that goal.
