lock wire to activate central locking
Hello FORUM.
Maybe someone can help me.
I am trying to intercept the lock wire, from inside the car, that goes to the central locking unit.
Does anyone know the position in the car and the colour.
I have been at it for three days now trying to fit an Easy Guard walk away locking mechanism.
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that - the door locks are controlled by the door control modules and the body processor module and they communicate on the SCP bus, so there isn't a simple one wire control that locks them.
You would probably have to look at the driver's door lock switches where it connects to the driver's door control module and connect to the "lock" switch on the key barrel, so the car thinks you have momentarily turned the key to the lock position.
You need the electrical guide for your car. Download it from Gus's site:-

Thanks for the quick response Any chance you would know where inside the car and what colour the wires might be to activate the lock switches.
Thank you in advance.for any info

You need to download the electrical guide for your car that will give the wire colours. The modules are in the drivers' door.
Here is the diagram for my car, which might be different to yours:-

I would use a relay to bridge the lock switch. If you don't know what you are doing, don't attempt this. If you do know what you are doing, take your time to understand the wiring diagram - all the information you need is in the electrical guide for your car.
Good luck!

Hi there
Trying to connect to the lock switch on the key barrel. I have the doors locking only for a moment, then they unlock again seconds later. You mentioned the key barrel lock switch earlier . There is only a black and blue wire on this barrell the others are . Live, ground, starter, and fuel pump I think.
I have the diagram for my car now, thanks. XKR YEAR 2000.
MANY THANKS

Hi
Can anyone help me please.
What is the fuel line size leading into the filter and the subsequent bolt size to tighten up to the filter.
Nobody seems to able to tell me this.
My bolt has sheared and cannot be tightened. I had to cut it off in the end.
Please what bolt do I need to get for this simple job done.
Thanks

Can you not measure the bolt which has sheared? Are you're taking about the fitting which actually screws into the end of the fuel filter canister as used on earlier X100 models? You can measure the fuel line size with a gauge although I think the end of the metal line might be flared so it's not as simple as cutting off the fitting. The fitting itself in the end of the filter canister might well be an imperial thread rather than a metric one. However, as this is a "bolt" with a fuel line running through the middle of it, I think that you are going to have to replace the metal fuel line, at least up to the first joint where you can disconnect it.
