Default Long Shot

I'm sure this is a long shot that anyone may know off hand what caused my "Issue" but I've gotten such good advice here, I thought I'd give it a shot.

My XK8-2000 w/75k miles, was running like a top (as usual) today. I was driving through the vary narrow streets of Newport RI when suddenly, without any warning lights, the car seemed to run out of gas. It stalled in an intersection and would re-fire as though it was running on one cylinder. The battery (which is new) still had plenty of juice when I put the top up and again, no error messages at all. The coolant is topped off and it has 1/2 tank of gas, no bangs, spewing coolant - nothing. It starts but barely idles, then dies. I had it towed to the nearest garage but being from out of state, I know nothing about them, besides they are close and said they can take a look at it. Again, I know this is a long shot, but any ideas? Almost forgot, when the tow truck driver arrived, we disconnected the battery and reset the computer by touching pos to neg. Didn'twork
Thanks

Mine acted the same way when the fuel pump when out. It won't throw a code, check the fuel pressure at the Schrader valve.

I thought it may be the pump, and it still could be, but it was replaced less than 5k miles ago. Thanks

What were the symptoms causing you to replace it 5K miles ago?

I don't know. I bought the car a year ago with 70K miles. The owner had a receipt from the local jaguar dealer who replaced it. I just got a call from the mechanic who now has my car and he's sure it's the pump. He says there's juice going to the unit and no pressure. When I told him the pump was new, he said he'd look for a wiring issue. Oh well.
