Hi,
I'm looking to have my IDS working well on a 2001 XKR (not SDD).
I bought a Mongoose cable on beebay (sent with JLR 154).
First try it with SDD/IDS with a VM. It works well and was fully recognize.

IDS cannot work with a VM. So I provide an old PC, installing Windows XP PRO SP3, only the IDS (V130), then Mongoose (with file J2534_MongoosePro_JLR_x86.msi).
Schedule set on 2012, 1st of August
But, now, Mongoose doesn't work because no driver is installed. I tried several time to reinstall Mongoose Pro but no joy!!

Is there something I forgot????

I just ran into a very similar problem. I have 2002.5 S-Type so no SDD will work for me, only IDS. have version 156 of the SDD under Win7 - Mongoose cable is recognized, reads VIN, wants to enter IDS, then IDS crashes (blinks for a second, then disappears). On the same notebook, Win XP Pro, SDD v.131 installed, mongoose cable shows up in device manager, starting SDD, tells me to connect the VCI. When trying to switch to mongoose via settings, no mongoose is recognized IDS itself works when manually entering the VIN number, but does not communicate with the vehicle. I'm starting to be helpless. The only thing I need is to reset ZF transmission adaptations... I'm about a small step to get it working but no luck so far... does anyone have any suggestions? It wold be enough to get IDS working under Win7 with my v.156 as the mongoose is recognized...

 

I need to do,,, and need this set up and system too,,, but it scares the BeeJeeeezus out of me. I will definitely be staying tuned to this.
