Well if it will make anyone feel better I did a complete investigation on the roof operation and recommendations before I knew that you could put the roof up or down by using the key. Hell I had no idea what everyone was talking about. It was one of my most embarrassing moments.

I didn't know my car would do that! And I also had the problem where the key wouldn't turn to the left. Weird.

Now that I know it does it, I can't think of a single instance where it will come in handy. I wish the designers had left out the "control the top with the key" feature and concentrated on a better cup holder.

I use the key method to drop the top frequently when parked outside to let the heat out and put the cover on before getting in.

As far as using the top up feature, I usually use it when I have parked the car in the garage with the top down and return later on when the weather has turned inclement. Roll up the cover , throw it on the parcel shelf (rear seat), run the top up, and take the Jeep on whatever errand I'm on.

I use it all the time - much more than the interior switch. At 6'3", it is much easier to get into and out of the car with the top down!

My only worry at the moment is that I'll experience the "green shower" before my Extra Mile Warranty runs out in November. I have the pressure relief valve in my garage, but haven't installed it! Wish me luck! DaleD

After now discovering how to operate the top with the key feature, I think that it will be very useful for operating the top before/after putting on or taking off the tonneau.

Now you don't have to get in the car, drop the top, get out of the car, open the trunk, put on the tonneau, etc.........

The manual tonneau is my major gripe with this car and this feature makes it a bit more tolerable for me.
