Default Manifold Catalytic Convertors

My front RH cat has a hole in - aargh! I’ve spent all week trying to find a replacement but they don’t exist, even second hand. Anyone know where I can get one?

2005 4.2 XKR

I have a set of factory cats from a 2002 4.0L in really great shape that I was going to put on eBay. PM me if you are interested and I can take pics and get part numbers off them tomorrow.

I looked as well. Are the cats the same for 4.0 and 4.2 and the XK8 and XKR? There seem to be a lot for the 4 litre but so many for the 4.2 and I have no idea if they are the same part.

I don’t think the pre 2002 are the same as they are a slip on fit at the exhaust end. C2A1000 is what I am after, but as already pointed out there are loads of 4.0s. No idea on commonality of fit, but why would there be differing part numbers if they were the same?

I thought about welding, but it’s rotten from the inside out, so it wouldn’t last long.

You might wan to try the other route: Go to an exhaust shop and ask for an estimate. If you feel the internal converter element is whole and working, maybe they can just custom fab a new shell for it with sheet metal. Would probably be even cheaper if you can bring them the part already off the car.

Best of luck, keep us posted.
