Default manuals - cup holder

We have recently purchased a 2003 XK8 convertible

My wife would like to add the leaping jaguar hood ornament to the car.
Has anyone done this to this model (it currently has a flat emblem in front of the hood).

Have you looked on eBay for the items in question?

I am sure you are going to receive a number of recommendations on the leaper ornament for your X100.

There are few leaper converted X100's for sale on Craigslist down here in Texas. don't understand it. Did E-types have a Leaper on the Hood?

Is the leather still good on your console/cup holder door? A new cupholder swaps your old leather onto it.

The leather is slightly different, but XJ8's have the same basic Glovebox lid/cupholder. XJ8's are much more plentiful in the junkyard with good consoles and cup holder guts. I bought a good one to fix my cupholder a few weeks ago for $10.

New cup holders are available for $100 off ebay.

John,

I've removed the 'wanted to buy' items from your post. This is not allowed in the model forums. The reason for this is 'wanted' or 'for sale' posts rapidly become irrelevant as items are bought or sold but then remain in the model forums forever and we don't want the technical forums cluttered with them.

Please read the guidance in PRIVATE For Sale / Trade or Buy Classifieds before postingagain about 'wanted' items.

NBCat is correct. You will get comments on putting the leaper on the front. Let me be the first. Please don't. IMHO it ruins the lines and the cat looks like it is jumping downhill due to the slope to the nose.

They look good on the XJ because the hood/bonnet is flatter and thus the cat is at the correct angle.

Search the forum. You'll find a few who have done it. At the end of the day, it is her car and whatever makes mama happy is good.

Sedans had leapers but Grand Touring cars did not.
I can't think of any sporty cars with protruding ornaments.

I was once forced to install a leaper on an XJS when I worked at the Jaguar dealer.
We tried to talk the woman out of it but 'no-use'. She WANTED THE LEAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
