Default Map Light/Homelink Console

It appears as though the adhesive qualities of my map light/garage remote console at the windshield top have given way and are hanging....

Has anyone developed a successful fix or guidance on this? I can experiment but if there is a known way I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

coupe or convertible?? If convertible - there is a plastic bracket mounted to the frame above the windshield and compression clips on the console slide through holes in the bracket to keep in place - SNG Barratt's

I agree with Sklimii,
The black plastic piece that accepts the clips from the dome light unit had broken on mine. I removed the plastic piece, and glued it back together (I had all the pieces)
After it dried, I refastened the black receiving piece, and gently pressed the unit's clips back into it. All is well.

Jaguar still sells the conv overhead console plastic mount bracket for something like $5.
I personally would not waste time trying to repair the old one.

Agree with Bob. I actually keep a few on hand as I've never removed that piece without a break. Buy them while you can from Jag. The good news is there is a 3D model if it for printing (pricey at $35) but at least will always be available.

I found a replacement for my broken bracket on eBay for $9 and change, free shipping. Parts.com has it for $5.36 but I don't know what they charge for shipping.

Search for part HJA2057AB.
