I bought one of the polished aluminium performance intake tubes from Mina Gallery. I took months to arrive and now I think they sent me the wrong part or I don't undertand how it attaches. there is a breather tube from the LHS valve cover runs about parallell to the fuel rain that connects to the OEM intake tube at the 90 angle just above the throttle body. There is no connection for this tube on the Mina system .
On the OEM intake tube where it connects to the air filter box there is no breather tube connection yet on the MIna tube there is an aluminum stub ( I assume for a breather0 and they (Mina) supplied a long rubber hose ?

has any one who has fitted one of these shed some light ?

 

Hopefully this helps you out. You route the hose from the intake to the left side cam cover.

My stock intake had the hose coming from the intake tube at the throttle body.

 

Thanks but mine is not an XKR it's an XK8 ...not sure if that makes a difference ?

 

The location of the breather connection on the intake tube changed along the way, it doesn't matter where it is.

I'm also thinking about getting a Mina pipe. Is the old breather connection here? Or is that an electrical connection?

 

Yes that is the old breather, the pipe can be quite tricky to remove from under the cooler but it will come out with a bit of persuasion although leaving it in situ is not detrimental other than aesthetically.
