Cool missing front plate

hey forum.... I had tie wraps holding my front plate on and they broke off... needless to say the next day I get a ticket for no front plate (New York 65.00 bucks ) I took a picture of the rear plate holding the front plate next to it so the judge won't think I just have one plate or took the back plate and put it on the front... any chance the ticket gets squashed and thrown out...?? I also took a picture of the plate on the front of the car.....Tony

Must have been a Trooper that ticketed you. I've been driving mine for 3 seasons with no NY front plate. Local police won't ticket for that as the small town justices just throw the case out as they have bigger fish to fry.

I am in Kalifornia where you would not normally get a citation for no front plate unless you are being stopped for some other more serious infraction. But over the last several years I have heard of people getting tickets while their car (without front plate) was parked in front of their own house overnight. Amazing to think that the local authorities have nothing better to do than scour the streets at night to pass out such idiotic tickets.

I have not mounted my front plate ever. I have the dang thing in the map pocket on the back of the passenger seat, and if I'm ever stopped I will say that one of the zip ties just broke, I took the plate off to keep from losing it, and I will remount it as soon as I'm home. If a LEO gives me a ticket under that scenario, I'll happily go to traffic court and will be amazed if I lose.

Neither of my XK's have front plates. This is a deliberate act of Civil Disobedience on my part. Don't park on the street, too easy to be picked out by a room temp IQ traffic cop or warden.
If I'm caught, I'll pay the damn fine.
Regards,

I don't run front plates on any of my cars here in Cincy where it is state law to do so. I have been pulled over for it ONCE in the last 20 years. My son, now 20 has been pulled over 2x for it, and then given a ticket for something else.
