Default Mongoose and V134 software

I have just got hold of a Mongoose from Singapore can with V134 software, but i seem to be having a problem that is common but there isnt really an answer out there there the problem

1. Software and licence load no problem on my XP laptop
2. Mongoose flashed up and is recognised by software
3. Enter VIN as mine is a 1997 XK8
4. Software states i must use Legacy IDS and gives me a button to transfer to it
5. Press button states load Legacy IDS then nothing it never appears

My question: is there a fix for this or do i need to try and get a early version of the software ie v130 (if i do anyone know of any links)

I also have v134 installed but never get a message about using Legacy IDS. Might be a difference is year of the car, as I have a 2003 model, which will also detect the VIN automatically.

I'm just guessing here but I found that removing the old Java Runtime and installing the latest version helped with the stability of the software.

Did your v134 come with the hack to stop it from needing an internet connection to work?

Ill try the update and see if that helps, i think the VIN recognition started on the 1999 update

I'm also using v1.34 and Chinese Mongoose clone with no VIN recognition issues on my 2007 XK (I didn't have Mongoose when I was running either my 2001 or 2005 XK8's).

I think your model is too early for automatic VIN recognition. Have you tried entering it manually?

Have you tried the IDS/SDD thread in General Tech Help for help and advice?
