Wink mph guage

Hi Guys, anyone know of a stick on or transfer that can be used to convert the mph gauge to favour kph?. a changeover gauge might be a go but sounds too difficult or expensive. cheers Mike

Interesting question.
Stick-ons and transfers will lose the backlighting, so they are not a perfect answer.

I have actually been looking into potential sources for gauge face overlays with numbers for my project to make the coolant and oil pressure gauges real (see https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...e-gauge-62813/ )

A couple of possible custom sources are Black Cat Custom Automotive - Custom Gauge Faces - KMH for Canada / International and Focus Products

Hmmm, maybe I should offer this as an option along with a Celcius temperatue scale !

WhiteXKR, keep me posted if you put something together. I don't need kph but I wouldn't mind a custom gage cluster, as long as it's stylish and not gaudy.

Definitiely. I have invested signiificantly in the gauge project, have a completed proof of concept working and just recieved my first real protoype back yesterday. I plugged it in last night and it communicated with my laptop for software development and it did not let out it's smoke...so we are off and running. I am lining up suppliers and should have a major product announcement in roughly the April timeframe.

I am not planning to change the look of the gauges, just enhance the function, although depending on which supplier I use for the replacement overlay, customization options might be possible...too earliy to say yet.

Another option is this guy: CUSTOM Indiglo and White Gauges (Available for ALL Configurations) [Fox T-Bird/Cougar Forums]

From my old fox body Cougar days. They are electrolumenescent overlays that can be completely custom. You could email him (panther37@gmail.com) and send a high quality scan one of our gauges and go from there. It looks to be similar to the process you posted.

Oh Mikey'

Where did you get that car?

I thought all the cars in Oz were already in KPH?

Did you import it?

How hard was that?

cheers,

Are any of these cars shipped with KPH as the major scale on the speedo?

European cars have KPH speedos only, UK cars have both MPH (large font) and KPH (small font) on the same dial. The KPH numbers on my XKR are particularly difficult to read, as they are both tiny and dark green!

Canadian cars have large KPH and small MPH, US cars have the reverse.

Smile xk8 mph guage

many tks guys for the help, have emailed the link & hope to get a satisfactory reply. I bought my zircon blue 8 from another aussie who lived in uk for a couple of years & so was allowed to import it to our over regulated country. consequently the gauge is in mph although as another member stated there is a kph alternative but is hard to read & in Australia the cops are operating on a no compromise policy so I have to use a gps to ensure staying out of the fine zone. cheers Mikem
