Default 'Idle' battery drain

Does anyone know what the actual battery drain current of XKR's is when they're switched off?
I could disconnect the battery and measure it, I know, but there's 6" of frozen snow against the garage door at the moment and tomorrow will be -11°C so my motivation isn't too good!

Perfect. I've got a 50mA constant current source limited to 13.5 V which looks as if it will keep things topped up.
Thanks again.

Buy a battery maintainer, CTEK makes a nice one.

Thanks Steve and Whitey.

I was going to ask the same question after I saw someone on the XK forum bring it up for post 2006 cars.

If I read this correctly the '96-'06 XK8's does not benefit from the keyfob lock up to stop battery drain.

Correct or not?

Course until two days ago I was still driving it......when the EU wide blizzard hit.

cheers from the Ice Cave,

jj

30mA is pretty low standby drain, about 0.9% of the battery charge per day. I believe it goes into full sleep automatically after 28 days (key fob no longer works until the car is restarted), where the drain close to zero.
