Default muffler delete

After reading several posts, I'm going to delete the rear mufflers on my 2000 XK8 with straight pipes. Hope the sound has some quality.

I have thought of doing this too. if you could take a video with sound when you are finished I'd appreciate it.

Did the same myself 4 years ago. Definately ups the noise levels. But can be a bit "dronny" driving at a constant 30 mph uphill. But overall I like it.

For what it is worth, I removed the front, centre muffler and welded in a crossover pipe on my 02 XKR. It had a bit more growl idling, was quiet on the road but if you stood on it there was a howl that was purrfect for me anyways. On my Xk8, I tried deleting the middle mufflers, just in front of the axels and only found a slight increase in volume. Turns out that like the rears, they are only resonators. I may take out the front muffler and put in a cross-over, like I did on the xkr but leave the back , rear resonators on to keep down hwy drone.
