The one that i would seriously consider is one offered by one of our own jaguar enthusiasts SanDiegoMac (not around here though)...designed, and manufactured to his strict standards, and he even has different 'level's of exhaust sound to choose from. Very nice stuff, check it out here, and here. around $2k shipped I think I heard, but nothing but outstandingly positive reviews of it. It's all bolt on also.

CB, whats with the all CAPS? We know brutal has a good reason. What is yours?

Stop being so negative btw, just because a product is high quality (stainless is more costly than aluminum if you werent aware) and more expensive than your piecemeal method, doesn't mean it's bullsh*t. You've got issues.

I put the Mina stainless exhaust on my XK8...it sounded great and I'm sure gave more power. Sells for under $1,000. BTW, I also installed the K&N intake they sell...it helped the sound and power as well. I highly recommend both. When you see how restricted the stock intake and exhaust are you'll understand why just about anything will improve the power and sound! I installed both of them myself. If you are handy and have some tools the intake is easy and the exhaust takes some horseing around but it's pretty straightforward. I sold my XK8 and bought an XKR. I'm going to put both on it.

Good luck! And let us all know what you decided.

J

not trying to step on anyones toes but have you considered removing the silencer with a stainless x-pipe. i think that is what i am going to do, it is good quality doesnt cost alot (if welded not clamped) and if i want more sound then i can always just replace the mufflers. just an idea for you to think about.

My electric cutouts take care of any restriction the factory exhaust might have.. they dump right after the cats..

I had my system done by my local shop.

2" 1/2 Stainless steel, Mandril bend, under axle, magnaflows, cat back, x pipe, no resinators, no second mufflers, out the stock location. black chrome tips. $900.00
I will take pics for yall when i get home. Made a huge difference in the performance, sound and overall enjoyment of the car. I would not buy a pre-made system from some one for these cars.
They are all WAY over priced just like any thing for these cars you are paying for the name JAGUAR.

In my own Humble Opinion of coarse.

And CB00JAGUAR, seriously man.... RELAX.... you sound like your going to have a coronary BLOWOUT!!!

I am sure there was an improvement or at least a change in sound but was the 'difference' in performance real and measured or just a perceived difference due to the sound?

Maybe saying huge is not the right way to put it. I can notice that the engine runs smoother. I can also tell a performance gain. NO it is not tested yet at the track or on a dino. No it is not a perceived difference due to the sound. i can feel the difference. you'll just have to take my word for it.
I have noticed a 1 to 2 mpg difference tank to tank depending on how i drive it. I have not taken it on a long road trip in cruse control yet. im sure i will see a nice plus there.
