Default My ABS is back!

For about a year my ABS light's been on. Being a pessimist, I figured it was likely a solder failure in the brake module. But while I had my wheels off to do the brakes, I decided to clean off the ABS sensors. Took them out and they looked pretty clean; no great lumps of filthy grease and road dirt on them. Washed them off in the sink, reinstalled them, et viola, no more ABS light and the system does work as I found when I spun the wheels on loose gravel. Perhaps the easiest, cheapest Jag repair ever!

It indeed is worth it to take the time to scrub the wheel speed sensors with a toothbrush and dish soap at least every year or so. Been doing it at each tire rotation since I learned the trick in early 2013 and have not seen an ABS warning light since....

I do like the idea that a slightly large violin played a part in all this. Just think what you could fix with a cello.

Would a cello resolve my crappy A-arm bushings?

No, but for electrical faults the wiring diagram is full of cymbals.

I'll get my coat.

Did that last year only to find it wasn't the problem. (Although it was the original 16-year-old one with about 115,000 miles on it.)

I was tempted to edit my typo, but it was too funny.
