I'm a sucker for contrasting piping. And those umbrellas! Such nice touches. This car has gone sky high since you got rid of that hood ornament. Well done, Phil!

Welded umbrella mounts?! It boggles the mind how much time and money you're willing to blow on this car....

It's called a hobby. I do most myself and do a lot of trading out for most of the rest. My brother welded them for me Free!! Umbrellas 5.00 plus shifter knobs. I don't consider a minute or a dime I've spent "blown"
In fact today was our Carolina jaguar club meeting and it was fun discussing what we do to our cars. They seemed to be impressed.

I completely agree Phil. Everyone has a hobby.. and ours happens to be Jaguars. I know full well that I will not get the money out of this car I'm putting into it. But that's ok. Its not meant to be an investment. Its how I relieve stress on the weekends and spend my free time. So I'm with you on this one.

Actually, I decided to mount the umbrellas after I deleted the rear seat. They rolled around in the back and I always keep a pair in ever car. Then they became a project that turned into this! From follows function. Now I don't have to hear them roll around, don't have to search for them since they're always in their place!

Same here. But I've gotten caught in the rain and never had an umbrella I could get to. With my seats back, I couldn't get to the one in the back footwell, now easy reach!!

Here's the deal, target sells a basic black mini Totes umbrella for like 5.99. The handle unscrews with a torx bit. I had British Autowood make me two knobs with the tapped bolt left out and used two part epoxy clay. Filled the hole with clay and forced the umbrella post all the way in and cleaned up extra clay, then when dry, I painted black with touch up paint. Voi la!

Where is the Carolina Jaguar Club? I'm near Charlotte, Fort Mill SC. I would consider it an honor to see this car in person.

Doug - Carolina Jaguar Club is the NC Chapter of the JCNA. They are on facebook and I believe they frequent the Charlotte Cars& Coffee. I also posted their upcoming concours on the Lower Atlantic regional section for those interested.

regards,
steve

The Cars and Coffee in charlotte is really great and is usually the first Saturday in the month from 7:30 to about 11am. I make it as often as I can but it fills up fast! Usually a good number of British cars among every other car you can think of. We almost lost the event last month due to idiots burning out of the parking lot and a specific mustang actually wrecked and almost hit bystanders. But they are giving one last chance.

The Little Switzerland JCNA Concours event is awesome. Stunning location overlooking the blue ridge mountains, great food, fun shopping in small boutiques, and JAGUARS!! Almost every model ever made. There's a great Inn if you want to spend a night or two but it fills up fast. It's probably about 2+ hours from charlotte? About an hour or less for hickory. It's July 17-20 but the actual show is that Saturday. Head up that morning, have a 5 star lunch on the panoramic veranda, walk the beautiful grounds and view some o the most beautiful jaguars, even vote for people's choice (mine lol) and then check out the shops before heading home.
