Default My XK8 won’t start / Here is what happen

Today after moving my car, I want to go with it and no starter or power at all. Everything was dead and I do have a brand new battery. Try to boost it, nothing, put my gear in neutral with the special screw to remove and still nothing. It was like if my ignition switch was broken, nothing. no radio, power windows even no front light. Call my mechanic, he thought that the electronic was done.

Suddently i try something, my wheels were totally turn on the right side. Force the steering wheel full right and turn the ignition ——BINGO, it was it.

The wheels were too much on the right and seems to cancel the ignition switch to operate. Before calling a towing, make sure that your wheels are not forcing the steering and ignition switch.

PS: i am from Québec, Canada, just bought a Wind Deflector from DCR auto parts in England. Amazing product and even with the shipping, custom, it is cheaper then EBay. And much better look on my Victory Édition.

Default Bad startvprobably an Earth/Ground cable issue

Not too surprisingly, I don’t think the car’s steering is connected to the ignition start up. You probably just jolted an electrical connection back to life.

I strongly suspect you have a problem with a ground /earth connection. There are several in the car - battery to body and engine to body seem likely. Best give those a check and a clean, and it’s probably the latter.

Love the windbreak. DCR always has good stuff.

Your car is an identical twin to my wife's 2006 Victory Edition. First one I have ever seen that looks exactly like hers....

I would check the bolts on the main fuse in the boot. I had them loosen over time which led to a sporadic no start situation.
