On the back side of my mirror is some sort of adjustment button which rotates in either direction to an internal stop. I'm assuming that this is some sort of adjustment for the sensitivity of the self-dimming mirror, but there's nothing in my owner's manual on it.

 

It sets the sensitivity of the automatic headlights (ambient light level to turn on and off when set to auto)
