Other than you posted in the wrong forum (X150 vs X100), I'd think it was way overpriced. Fact that it has an LS is definitely not a plus to ME at least, but hellz, man... I sold my 2000 XK8 six years ago and got a whopping $8600 for it. Had low miles and absolutely zero wrong with it. That makes your listed 99 seven years older than the one I sold and two grand more.
IF you really want to spend that much, get a 2007+ XK for just a couple bucks more. One HELL TON of a better vehicle.

The mileage is good for a car that age, but I don't believe it. With all of those silly mods there's no way it was a garage queen. That "cold air intake" is a joke. The factory air intake sucks in air from outside of the engine bay. That POS is sucking in HOT air from INSIDE the engine bay. The people who slap a cone filter and some flexible tubing on an intake and think they are going to get better performance out of it crack me up.

In my opinions, the aftermarket body kit detracts from the value of the car. A car with such low mileage could be a valuable classic some day. But the body kit, chrome wheels, and silly engine mods subtract from the value. Plus, those are the ugliest Jaguar wheels ever.

I bet the previous owner slapped some fart cans on there, too.

But that's just my opinion, and you know what opinions are worth.

You just got the best advice from knowledgeable owners of both X100 and X150 models, so there's no need to move this thread to the X100 Forum. Forget that '99 and buy a 2007-up X150. You'll be glad you did.

Actually... If he's going for good looks, you can't beat the X100. (Well... The XKE/E-Type has it beat, but they are becoming as rare as unicorns.) If he wants the looks of the X100 he should get a 2003-2006. The 4.0 engine on the 2002 and earlier years had issues.

Yeah, I can see why you'd want to pay more for a less powerful LS. Course I am talking about a 2010+ XKR instead. 350hp vs 510. Course the N/A XKs also have 385, so that also beats an LS. AND, the 2007 XKRs have 420, so AGAIN beat, and those ones are WAY more bulletproof than any LS engine (motors are electric). How much power the NA 4.2s have? I don't remember... uhh, 300...?
"Never liked" usually equals "never had one". Dude's had quite a few though, so don't understand this one. Course most were old lumps in saloons, so there's that.
Of course as Sam (and many others, like me) have said, the X100 is fantastically pretty. Too bad they ride and perform like a Chevy.

If you looked at my profile you would see I own both xj 12 and xj 6 I prefer the American V8 it's all about preference

I've moved your question from X150 to X100 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Kris, a few notes to consider.

The light colored dashboard on these early models gets a bit annoying in the sun - reflects on windshield ( have this same color so I know).

She doesn't appear to have premium stereo.

Heated seats? Hard to tell from photos.

While looking at photos see if you can make out the button nearest drivers side, same row as heated seats. Does it say DSC or TRAC OFF? I believe Trac Off is the preferred option.

These are small issues to some, important to others. It's up to you.

Leather looks great BTW. Interesting dash wood veneer choice. Some might prefer burled walnut. This might be a different wood. Elm?

Hope it helps. John

Btw, engine compartment is messy. Wires dont route across intake manifold like that. Missing JAGUAR covers both sides. Not a show stopper, just be aware.

Just saw your note above you're looking to put another engine in? Well the um custom body panels will fit your theme. I'd pass but then I'd never swap the engine.

The hood doesn't look like it fits right. The body kit makes it less than original. For that price, you can do much better, IMHO.

Why is Trac Off preffered over DSC off?
