Default Need Help with Glove Box Handle Failure

Anyone have the glove box handle separate from the cylinder ?

The glove box latch failed on my 2000 XK8 shortly after I sold the car. Seems the latch separated from the cylinder so that when you pull on the handle it pivots but does not open the door and is clearly unattached to the cylinder. The gentleman who bought my car believes he can figure it out and is not concerned about it, but I would sure like to help him if anyone has suggestions.

Problem solved. It turned out that nothing was broken. The handle had simply popped out because the two metal fittings into which the handle’s pins fit were spread slightly too far apart. The reason the handle wouldn’t go back into place was that the pins on the two spring-loaded sliders which it pinches in order to release the latch were fully extended and would not fit into the appropriate recess in the handle.
