Need help with lighting issue 2002 Jaguar XK8
Hello Guys,
I have been reading your comments and I consider myself lucky to be admitted into this exclusive club. Thanks for your help in advance. The car is a new acquisition so I don't know much about its history. Here is the issue I am having with a 2002 Jaguar XK8:
- it seems that dash lights don't work at the same time with the exterior lights. In other words, at night time, if I turn on the exterior lights, the dash lights all turn off (including the radio and climate control). If, on the other hand I turn off the exterior lights, then the dash lights come back on. So it looks like they are mutually exclusive: I can't have both dash lights and exterior lights all turned on at the same time. I am sure the cops will have heard the "I didn't know how fast I was going" excuse many times before...
Please let me know if you can help,
Valentin

Have you tried the dash dimmer knob on the left side of the steering column. It will adjust the brightness of the dash lights at night and even switch them off. It is close to the steering wheel adjustment control.
Sincerely,
Valentin Cristea
