Need to replace 1997 XK8 stereo

Being that its a '97, you could have an easier job than the rest of us. Throughout the production of the X100, Jaguar used 2 different radios and thus 2 different bezels. The early 97 cars used a radio with an (almost) standard single DIN opening, and the rest used a non-standard radio size.
So the first step will be determining which one your car is fitted with (see the pictures below).
If it's the original style (Image 1), you're lucky and only need a faceplate adapter manufactured by Nexxia (Image 3). Once fitting this into your existing bezel, any single DIN replacement will fit. The second picture requires some modification before fitting the new radio.
If you do indeed have the newer style (Image 2), there are a couple options depending on how handy you are. You can fabricate your own surround piece if you feel comfortable, or there are 2 parts you can purchase that will make a single-DIN radio fit. The first is the same Nexxia adapter as above, and the second is Jaguar part #LJA6318AB (Image 4), which is the bezel surround from earlier cars as seen in the first photo. This will replace your existing bezel surround. Image 5 is the bezel you need and nexxia adapter fitted together.
No matter which radio you have, your opening will need to look like Image 5 before going forward with a new radio. It's just a matter of whether or not you need the new bezel or not (Jaguar part #LJA6318AB, Iamge 4).
To recap. Image 1 is old style radio. Image 2 is new style radio, Image 3 is the Nexxia adapter you need no matter what. Image 4 is the bezel you already have with the old style radio, or the one you need to acquire if you have the new one. Image 5 is the bezel and Nexxia adapter fitted together.
Hope that's not too confusing...
