New 2001 XKR owner
Hello everyone I just inherited my dads 2001 xkr I have check engine light on and it says restricted performance.
The error codes are
P0300 random misfire.
P0308 cylinder 8 misfire
P1314 rate catalyst damage fault - bank2
P1316 Rate Exceeds Emissions
P1111 system pass
also the air bag light stays on gives a 2:2 blink.
can anyone help.
I live in rockland county and I would love some advice on how to find an honest Jaguar mechanic.

Welcome to the forums Alexcala411,
I've moved your post from General Tech Help to XK8/XKR forum for advice from members with the same model.
The location "rockland county" challenged my geographical knowledge but I think your are in New York State? If so, a post in US Northeast forum is the place to ask for Jaguar specialist recommendations.

I would swap the ignition coil from the #8 position to any other and see if the problem follows. Also check the spark plug while you're in there, maybe swap that too. No parts to buy, nobody to take your money. That will tell you a lot.
Also have you had an issue with the air bag light being on?
The TSB for decoding the air bag flash codes is linked in the DIY sticky thread:

I had a 22 code a long time ago and cleaned the connectors along the seat wiring harness to remedy it.
