Default Under trays on a 2001 XKR?

What under trays were installed from the factory? Does anyone have a breakdown of where they were located?

I would like to check that all mine are still installed on the vehicle.

Thanks!

I don't have any on mine. I assume that is because none were installed.

All models came with 1 undertray in the front. Piece 6 on the attached parts drawing. It basically provides rigidity to the bottom of the front bumper cover.

No, it was installed. You just lost yours at some point.

it’s really not like a “full” under tray, but it does go completely from side to side, so maybe that’s a legitimate description.

mine was “lost” when I ran over a black alligator
(truck tire carcass) on a dark turnpike one night last year as I created a hill going 75+ mph. Sheared it right off and scared the bejesus out of me. No time to swerve, and that fact probably saved my life. If I’d hit it with my tire & ran over it I would likely have lost control of the car.

If driving without one you really should stabilize the lower bumper by zip tying it to the frame, etc.

Yeah I hit a dead deer right at the crest of a hill the other year and it broke my right side and middle off. The left is still there. So my front kinda has a slight Teenage Mutant Nina Turtle grin going. Also due to this, my right inner fender liner apparently came back enough to rub the tire slightly which has worn the plastic down. Drrrrrrr! This is another one of those parts I'm surprised no one is making smh!

I believe my front under bumper shield is present.

Is that really the only one? Nothing under the engine/transmission?

It really is the only one, nothing to the rear of it.

JaguarXKR,

Your 2001 XKR "Silverstone" came with part #'s 6 and (2)14's.....Jaguar changed to a large single Undertray on the 2005 & 2006 models.....In most cases, your (14) Wind Defectors are normally still in position, It's the actual Wind Deflector that the mechanics forget to replace or throw away.......

The other bit that always seems to vanish is the little duct that bridges between the undertray and the alternator cooling duct. It has to be removed to change the oil and for some strange reason has a tendency to end up in the mechanics trash can.

I do have #6 on the diagram up there, I thought that was part of the bumper. When he said undertray, I thought he meant peices that go under the engine, transmission etc, like I have on my Mercedes S65.

To be honest I never thought much of them, figured they were just useless weight to make the underside look pretty, even though no one looks at it. But to be honest they do keep grime and road debris off the bottom of the engine.

Is the cooling duct shown above?

From the picture above I am not sure what number 14's actually look like.

No, not shown above. What I am referring to is #2 in the image below.

The front edge hooks onto a cross bar and there is just the 1 bolt to hold it in place.

Charlie is right! It looks like you still have them! My 2005 has a large Undertray that covers the Whole area from the front back to about where the #14's are...In other words, it's much larger than yours! If the Mechanic needs to work on the Oil Cooler or anything up front, they have to take it off......It's easy to forget having to put it back on......at the end of the Day....So after my original one disappeared,,..and I had to buy another one for $380.00.....I look before I leave the Shop, now! I've wondered how many 2005 and 2006 XK's still have one....?
