I'm really not familiar with every single model Jag ever offered, but all of the models that I can think of had one thing in common; very smooth, flowing body panels which curved in interesting shapes. The new model, while attractive in its own right, is dominated by sharp edges and hard lines, which to me isn't consistent with the brand.

 

I like the new-gen. I am driving an '03, but when the time comes to change, I'd get the current body style. Hands-down, I think it's the GT best-buy today.

And like Matt - I really like not having to deal with the idiotic tonneau cover.

The new XKR-S also does look like a GT-R a bit:


However - the regular XK and XKR does look good IMHO.

As far as the new ones look too much like an Aston .... Gee, I don't know ... If a lady approached your girlfriend/wife/spouse and said 'mam/miss, you looked too much like Natalie Portman/Kate Beckinsale/Scarlett Johannsen .... ' - I think you and her would be ok with that ......

 

The front end looks like a dog who ate rotten meat. The back looks like a Supra from the 80's.

It does look nice from the side.

My point wasn't against the aston, they are beautiful cars, but I haven't wanted an aston for as long as I can remember, I've always wanted a jag, therefore I want my jag to look like a jag and not an aston. In addition, my girlfriend more often gets the 'you look like Audrey Hepburn' which I'll take over any of the other options mentioned, lovely as they are in their own right. ;-)
