New Jaguar Owner Needs Help
I recently purchased a 1999 XK8. Over the weekend the car went into Safe Mode. I took it into a service station that specializes in Jags. The mechanic said the Throddle Body needs to be replaced ($2200). I see there is a Service Action (S514) which covers throttle bodies. I see that 1999 "XK Series SC vehicles" are covered under this service action. My VIN number falls within the VIN range liasted. My question is, what does "SC" vehicles mean? I've looked through the manuals and docs that I have and can't quite figure out if my vehicle is covered. Can someone help?

You can find the SA 514 document here:

second post.
It appears that only the '99 super charged (R) cars are covered but look to the VIN numbers. The UK and US label model years differently. In the UK the MY is when the car is assembled. In the US the MY is whatever the manufacturer labels it. I have seen at least two cars with manufacture dates of April with MY designations of the following year.
The SA has been extended until the end of the year but that is only 7 weeks away . . . scary.
