And for short visits when you don't need a loaner (e.g. oil change), there's a fully stocked kitchen with refreshments (coffee, donuts, bagels, croissants, etc.) and computer workstations. Also a theatre room and relaxation grotto (which I need after I see the bill). And you get to visit the new car showroom (Jags, Astons, Range Rovers) and the goodies in the pre-owned lot.

It won't be easy giving this up when I find Moe, the indy..

Meanwhile, the dealer performed all the work they had recommended, and did it at their expense. The service invoice they gave me showed N/C beside each item. They decided to replace the entire glove box instead of just the broken hinges, and that glove box kit part is currently on backorder. They repaired the fuel rail (replaced broken pressure switch), and replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses and clamps. The corresponding total for these items on their Recommended Services sheet was $2300+, and they covered those costs. They also offered to have the car delivered to me at the location of my choice, which I thought was a nice gesture. They used a local service called RedCap to deliver the car, which is a third-party they use to contract for drivers.

I'm not sure what produced the apparent change of heart on their part, but I was quite pleased that they changed their tune. I did confirm that no dashboard icons or messages appeared when I pulled it into the garage. I will do a separate post tomorrow to detail all the codes that turned up when I gave them the car.
Great news. In an earlier post of mine, I suggested that the dealer just might complete the repairs rather than accept the car back. This made the most sense on the dealers part, rather than take the car back.

Glad it has worked out for you. This is what the dealer should have done from the beginning.

I still highly doubt that the dealer was sincere about taking the car back, so this was a great alternative for them. While the repairs listed showed $2300.00 there is no way the dealer incurred expenses of that magnitude. Since the car was not under warranty with Jaguar, they could not chargeback Jaguar for any warranty repair. So they acquired the parts at their cost and had one of their grease monkeys complete the repair.

Nevertheless, the car is repaired and since you did not return it for a full refund, you will have to live with whatever happens in the future. Hopefully the story ends well for you at this point and yo have no more headaches.

Great job.
