Default New member here!

Good morning (here in Chicago)!
just bought my first Jag, a 2000 XKR in anthracite. Coming from years of driving a BMW Z4 and before that, a Z3. I’m absolutely taken by the XKR (always been one of my favorites, second only to the series 1E-Types. So, as I now own a dream car of mine, I couldn’t be happier!

Welcome, George. Nice car, and I especially like the wheels.
You will find lots of useful information here, and if you have any question about your car, just ask and you will most likely find that someone has already dealt with it.

Thank you! I was on the BMW forums for years, and found so many answers and so much help. Very valuable.

Lots of people will help with their experience, but there are a few guys here who seem to know almost everything about these cars.

Welcome George,

Love the picture of the car and backdrop. Nice choice in an XKR for the summer ahead. Let us know how your To Do list looks like and, in using this forum, keep each problem in individual threads. It's easier than for people to chime in on their own experiences and solutions.

Was in Chicago a while back and experienced your winter. Hope the XKR is a summer ride. Rust is a killer for the X100 at our age!

Something tells me that this picture was not taken in Chicago.

Not Chicago! Drove it up to Spring Green, Wisconsin to tour Frank Lloyd Wright’s home/ studio at Taliesin. Nice, easy road trip from Chicago and enjoyed every minute in the Jag (despite the yellow Check Engine light and “restricted performance” going on (at the dealership now for that!)

Welcome George,

Don't know how handy you are, but there is an incredible store of information on this site covering every aspect of repairs and maintenance, and helpful people to walk you through the process. You might want to ask for a recommendation from other members for a local independent mechanic in your area if you're not comfortable working on the car yourself. No limit to how much money you can save by not going to the dealer.
