Default New A pillar trim

Finally got round to fitting my ebay-California trim today.

It took a bit of tugging to pull the seal free.

There was also some double sided tape holding the trim in place.

Cleaned up.

I put a strip of double sided tape on the new trim.

New one in place.

Hi m8!

I have a 1999 XK8 coupe and desperately need my windshield, side, and rear window trims repainted. I suppose they are all affixed by some kind of double sided tape just like the A pillar ones. What size of a tape (width) have you used in your application?

Regards,
Danny

Your windshield trim is fastened with plastic clips. see Racediagnostics other post The lower window trim just pulls off and pushs on.

For the A pillar trim I used a strip about 5mm wide.

Check this thread for refinishing process:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...rim-faq-55561/

The door trim is easily removed but the front and rear screen trims and the side window trims (on the Coupe) are secured with clips.

High risk of damage when removing these clipped trims and safer to mask up and refinish in situ.
