New Tire Recommendations
I recently purchased a 2001 KX8. The former owner had put wheels from a 2003 XK8 on the vehicle a couple years ago ... but, I think they are the same size (255/45/18 ... 8" on the fronts and 9" on the backs)
The car needs new tires and I'd like some recommendations. The car has Continentals on it right now and I'm really not satisfied with them ... although, they are old and the fronts currently have touring and not Z rated tires .. so things are not too well matched.
I've heard that some XK8 owners do not like the Perreli PZeros.
And, I'm interested in knowing if any of you have the Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge or the Eagle F1's. If so, how do you like them?
Those of you with KX8 tire experience, your advice is needed. Thanks!

RE: New Tire Recommendations
Definately let us know wha t you think of them, and some pics would be lovely 2. They always look better on rims and on the car...not just in a flyer or internet ad.
I have the pzeros, and granted...i've had nothing else on this car, but i've found them very quiet and 'grippy'. I have a hard time breaking the rear loose, actually. I'm about 10,000 miles away from new rears though.

Hey lovewarrior...........
I have the P Zeros albeit on an X type.
Love em and it would take a helluva lot to convince me too change.
I've been runnin them for around 15 years with a few changes thrown in here n there, but always go back to the P Zeros.
Great in the wet, nice n sticky and good lifespan too.
Please let us know how you get on with the F1's though.

Although not on a Jag...I was turned onto Toyo Proxes T1Rs by several members of a Euro car club here in CA. Depends on where you live though, but outside of a snowy climate, these are a tremendous "bang for the buck" tire.
I had to replace the stock Pirelli P Rossos after just 9k miles...and that's in an AWD!
I've had these on for just over 8k miles now...been to the 1/4 mile track...lots of canyons...and every day driving. Great all around tires IMO.

RE: New Tire Recommendations
Well, I appreciate the responses ... but, I'm really looking for recommendations from those who own XK8s. One must compare apples to apples. X-Types just do not have the juice that XK8s have ... and, the weight of a car and distribution of the weight is of paramount importance when considering a tire.
After exhaustive research, I'm going with the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S. They are an all-season tire and offer a longer treadlife than the OE Pirelli P-Zero. Plus, Pirelli is currrentlyoffering a rebate on the tires. The tires are rated very well in wear andcomfort while not sacrificing too much wet and dry traction. The tires are designed for heavier sports cars like the XK8. It sounds like the ticket.
I'll post my thoughts after I get a few thousand on em.
