The XK8 finally arrived today! Very nice, the seller (Dealer) had the ABS module rebuilt, put on new Michelin Pilots, and changed the water pump. All after the fact. The only thing I can find wrong with it is that the front fogs don't work, well maybe I don't know how to work them!

 

Hi the dealer certainly looked after you,nice to receive good service.
The ignition and at least the side lights need to be on for the front fogs to work. I am sure you will love your new Cat

That's a superb colour combination and the coupe certainly seems be a rarity amongst US forum members. As Al says, the dealer has looked after you.

Did you not get the Literature Packs? Perhaps you did but are still standing outside just gazing at the car

The original documentation comprises the Driver's set in a folder in the glove compartment and the Vehicle Care set in a black plastic folder strapped to the left hand side boot liner:

Vehicle Care Literature Pack
Vehicle Care Handbook
Maintenance Schedule (UK) or Passport to Service (US)

Some or all of these are often missing but PDF's are readily available.

I did not get the folder for the glove box, I believe it is a leather brown? I also did not get the Passport to Service. I will get them on eBay.

Glove Box folder colours and designs vary over the years. The one with my 2000 XJ8L was green, my 2001 XK8 had a brown folder and my current 2005 XK8 has a green one. You need to look out for the right one for the 2001 Model Year so it fits in the plastic tray in the top of the glove box.
