Default No catalytic converters ?

i moved to an area that does not require the use of catalytic converters on the exhaust pipes so I was wondering if there was any O2 sensors after the catalytic converters or any other reason why I could not run without them? What I’m looking for is a little better performance and a little louder exhaust? Any advice??? TIA. Keith

The last thing you ever want to do is **** off your CAT. Yank out the convertors and she will start tossing up DTC's, may go to restricted performance but at minimum without the convertors she will go into to default fuel mapping and start lapping up fuel like its free.
If you want a louder purr gets some high flow performance cats, put in the x-pipe and remove the rear resonators. Lost of info here on the site for the mods.

The ECM system relies on the information for controlling fueling. Default mode is designed to keep it running to get it to a service facility but isn't set for performance or economy.
