Noise coming from throttle body area
When I started my car Friday afternoon, I heard a motor run and I have never heard that before. Five minutes later I got a very strong fuel odor in the cabin and I still did not think to much about it. But this morning the motor sound was MUCH louder and again 5 minutes later I got a very strong gas odor.
I have not researched this yet, but has anyone had the motor on their throttle body go out like this?
I do not want to be stranded somewhere.

Hmmm...even if an electronic bit on the throttle body was dying, I don't think that would cause or contribute to a release of fuel or fuel vapors.
Perhaps the problem is with the evaporative emissions system, and not the throttle body. I'm just trying to think of where some kind of "motor" sound would coincide with fuel vapors, other than the fuel pump.

My experience with this is that when starting, under certain HVAC settings, a blend door will move, making a motor sound. These doors are moved by electric servos. If it opened the outdoor air door and you have a fuel leak under the hood, it would let this odor into the cabin. Just look for a fuel leak. I suppose it could be the throttle body, but I have never heard that one before. The stepper motor for the throttle is inside a big metal enclosure, it would really have to be whanging to be heard over the engine.
