Already remove the overriders and the splitter, cut the nose corner flairs and painted the black bumper. Different as yours, the chrome splitter was attached with the plastic fasteners, not metal bolts; secondly, the covers fasteners were shorter than yours, which made it very easy the removal of those, contrary to your experience.

Now, my question is, after the installation, how do you went back to retighten the 19mm bolt that secures the black bumper, from under the car? Is there enough space to do it? Or from above with the hood open?

Looking forward to get my hands on the grill and overriders and finish the job.

Thanks for a great thread which without it I wouldn't have any clue on how to start.
You'll need to fill the gaps on those overriders somehow. Jaguar makes a plug, but they're very expensive ($85 a piece retail), and I don't think they would fill the gaps on the ones your getting as they appear to have been widened. I would take them to a body shop and see what they suggest.

Skid Mark, the overriders I'm receiving are the ones belonging from an XKR, along with the three piece grill, meaning they don't have the extra opening to fit the chrome splitter as in the case of the originals in the XK8. Hopefully when received and the job is finished I will post photos.

Apart from the very first XKs all over riders are made to fit XK8s, there are a pair of fill in sections that come with the over riders for Rs, earlier over riders were solid sided, if you want to see I am sure I have both types here.

OK, I thought you were going to use the overriders pictured in the auction. If you use the solid-sided ones they should look great.

I just got this finished today. What an improvement. Just for future reference, I managed to install it without loosening the black bar (the 19mm bolts). Mine were on there so tight I couldn't break them free, so I thought I'd try it and it worked. Also, I don't think you need to cut quite as much of the bumper as you show in the picture, but it does provide a nice transition curve to do it as shown. One final thing, my chrome splitter was held on by three plastic fir tree fasteners rather than the bolts that are shown here. All in all it was a pain to do this, but oh so worth it

Default XKR Grill back to XK8

I am seriously thinking of undoing what a previous owner did and 'unconvert' my XKR grill back to what it originally was. The XK8 bumpers are still in place - you can see the slots. Would you still have the horizontal bars for the XK8 and any other necessary XK8 bits?

Looking at the mina gallery three piece grille for my 2002. Adding the arden kit and want the black on black grille.
I believe theirs is a much easier install. Hopefully if I flat black all the interior bits I won't have to go through all the removal!
