Default OBD2 Connection Error.. Help

My car has a fault, and it keeps going into the poor performance mode. It's hard to track down the problem because every OBD2 module I've tried fails to read. The Acron ones just gives me "connection error".

How can I fix this? Is there a fuse?

Are you turning your ignition switch to the 'on' position?

I looked through the fuse chart and do not see the serial data port fuses identified. The electrical schematic shows two B+ feeds to the port but it is too early in the morning to go chasing through the page links back to a fuse. They are probably supplied from one of the major modules.

The first OBD scanner used by o'reilleys did the same thing. Autozone had a scanner that did communicate with my car. Keep looking, or get a scanner that has tested successfully and in our 'member appvd scanner' thread we put together. If it doesnt work then, its time to let the professionals at the dealer troubleshoot the OBD system.
