Oh gee. The inevitable hits.
Drove the car home from 60,000 maintenance. Basically a multiple point inspection and oil change. Sure enough the next time I go for a ride an amber light low performance mode error with check engine on. Turned around and drove the 3 minutes home. During which the error message disappeared but the check engine symbol remains on. When I get home later I will use my code reader for sure. What to make of the coincidence. And yes I should do this work myself but at 70 I sold most tools and do not bend this body very well.
I doubt these guys will be doing my suspension work!

The same thing happened to me Friday. I thought I would take it out of mothballs, I don't drive it during the summer, too hot. Friday morning I started it up, went and put some fresh gas in it and drove it home. Friday night I took it out for a drive, and the check engine light came on. There was no difference in performance, so I don't think it's anything major. Haven't run a scan on it yet but will do it today. We are still in the high 90's here so I only drive it at night and during the winter.
The jag is a black convertible. Around April we are getting triple digit temps. Yes, the air conditioner works, but sun and heat are punishing on the car. Put the top down and you are sitting in a broiler. June through August we hit between 115 and 120. You don't see too many convertibles driving around in the summer. The ones you do, have rotten tops.
