Oil Drain Plug Gasket
Read somewhere that you should replace the oil drain plug gasket at every oil change. Bought a supply for future use and read the package which states: “Change gasket every oil change”. “Do not use unless oil pan threads are stripped”. ??? I am confused.
Likely China manufacturing:
they meant to say “Do not use IF threads are stripped”.
When I worked at the dealer, they provided a NEW rubber seal for the V8 cars at first, then started providing pan bolts with the seal incorporated.
I saved dozens of one-time-use pan bolts to use for myself.
After a few uses I discarded and replaced.
They will usually work for several oil changes if you do NOT over torque the bolt.(just my experience)
