Oil in Intake
So my Throttle Body is on his merry way to ASI, all the contacts where sparkling clean. When I took of the Throttle Body I found a pool of Motor Oil on the bottom of the Intake. That seems to be the wrong place for Oil, is that a Valve issue. If been complaining about excess Oil consumption. Fixed all other problems got it from 1qt per 1k to 1qt per 2k. Also when I took the lower Coolant Hose of the Throttle Body there was no Coolant flowing out. Is that normal or do I have an issue there. Happy Holidays to all of you, have a great Day
I had some oil in my intake manifold when i took it off.
I don't know how it got there since the throttle body, although pretty dirty, didn't have oil in it.
My car has Nikasil lined bores, and the only other place the manifold joins the engine is via the valve bores.
I'm wondering if the oil in the manifold is caused by blow-by from the bores.
Apparently an oil additive called Restore can help seal any bore looseness, reducing blow-by and raising compression.
If your car has Nikasil bores it might be worth trying some.
There's a thread on page 2 of this forum that i would link you to directly, if i knew how.
It's titled:
"Adding Zmax to the oil on 97 XK8"
Might be worth a read.

Oh blast, somebody has seen the waffle i wrote
I was hoping i could edit it out
since i figured out that blowby goes downwards past the rings, and when the piston is up the valves must be too, sealing the bore.
Sorry.
I did at least find out that the valves are adjustable
