Default Old car old logic

Seems my '99 with 193k of miles is a jealous one. After looking and passing on the '00 I saw this weekend she acts up.
the drivers seat will not move via the control switches. The seat moves with the memory on door. I swapped the switches from the passenger seat and still no movement. The fuse is good.
I am thinking I have a broken wire from the switch plug to the motor.
your thoughts?

Usual diagnostic is to swap the control modules between driver and passenger. These module all eventually fail. Module is under the front edge of the seat, easily reachable as long as you can lift the seat bottom.

Today I attacked my seat problem. I removed the passenger seat module by removing the seat so I could see how it was assembled. Next I removed the drivers seat module with the seat in place, not as difficult as I envisioned. Plug the good module in, nothing. Grrrrr! Returned to passenger side and found my drivers module was fine. Reassembled the passenger side. Thought I must have a cut wire as it is a power issue. I checked the main fuse again, it was ok. Carefully reading the fuse chart there is a separate fuse for the seat switch and 4 other functions, #8, a 5 amp fuse. Pulled it, looked fine, then held it up to sun. In cornor was a break in wire, no burn Mark! Replaced fuse and all is good. Now old dumb butt is having a drink trying to decide if he is happy for the cheap fix or upset he missed it orginialy.

It most likely will blow again. Usually when this happens there is a wire whose insulation has been worn away rubbing up against the seat frame. Removing the seat and a close inspection of the under seat wiring harnesses in daylight usually will reveal the culprit.
