Hello folks and thanks for taking a moment to read this thread.
I'm trying to find out if there is another way of identifying the ECU model number of a Jaguar xk8 96-97 year beside the obvious paper label on top of the unit, see pic. attached below. Over time some of these paper labels wear away. I have looked inside the unit but haven't noticed anything relating to the the model number LJA1410AK. However, I do know that the LJA1410AK units were used in 96-97 models up to at least vin SAJJGAED3AR007068. So with this in mind...does anybody know when they switched ECU model numbers from LJA1410AK to whatever came next in the manufacturing run?
There SHOULD be a VCATS label in the boot next to the spare wheel.
Module #s AND the SUFFIX for the software configured to it.
There is also a way to read the part number and suffix with WDS or IDS but I forget how exactly. (been a REALLY long time since I did it)
The module needs to be connected to the vehicle networks.
JEPC gives totally different part #s, and the Heritage website doesn't recognise either the one above, or LJA1410AN mentioned in TSB 303-07 (although that does specify NAS cars)
