Better yet--we do not have to pay for the privilege of exchanging views and information.
This is the only XK8/R Forum I post to or read. I like this forum, and recommend it to all current and future Jaguar owners. It has proved most helpful so far.
Stay a while, ask some questions, and post some answers if you have the knowledge.

Haven't been to the MAX site in quite awhile. The guys were really personable over there, I really liked the forum layout, but I can't do more than one car forum. This was my first registration, and I tend to be loyal.
I'm a member of that Forum also, but unfortunately, it just wasn't very active. When I have a Jag problem, I search all three of the American Forums in hopes of finding accurate info. I don't know what has happened to MPC as there were no announcements of it's impending shutting down that I am aware of. I wish them well.

Hi Doug,
I miss-spoke somewhat, as none of them are really "American", as they all have many members from overseas. I just think of them that way as opposed to the UK Jag Clubs that have very few American Members. A year or two ago I also frequented those UK Jag Forums and found a lot of good info. They had a very pronounced European flavor to them. When talking about Shops or Mechanics they mentioned cities like Lancaster or London, not LA or Philly. They also had Meetings and Group Rides that I liked, but that I definitely couldn't participate in, so I eventually stopped checking in. I think that it is safe to say that the overwhelming majority of those members were from the UK. Many of the members of these three Forums live here in the states, so I just came to think of them as the American Forums. Just my twisted way of thinking.
In any case, MPC is back online, and as Gordo mentioned, they are a very fine group of guys that love and cherish their Jags. I'm very happy to see them back. The more good Jag related info that is available can only help us all.
Regards,
Brian

Does it really matter? It is amazing how we look at the people on this computer (forum) anywhere in the world as equal and yet unable to do that in person!!!!! Think of how nice the rest of the world would be if we had no barriers.
Hey Gus, you may have misunderstood my comment. I did not mean to imply that I only sought to visit "American" forums. Only that most of the Jaguar forums I have found have a distinctive British "flavor" to them. Consequently I found discussions of mechanics and shops in various English towns to be of not much use to me. On the various car forums I frequent I generally seek out the other "local" owners if only to compare and contrast the mechanics, shops, "tuners" in my general location.
Regardless, the folks I have come across on all of the Jaguar forums generally seem like quite a decent and informative bunch.

I see what you are saying Gus. Here on the Forums we pretty much respond to others' statements or comments without the nebulous benefit of "seeing" them in person. We then only process those same comments without outside factors like their looks, clothing, tattoos, haircuts, etc to affect our interpretation of their statements. Sometimes humor is hard to pick up on, but I do like the fact that some of those outside factors aren't there to cloud our impressions.
Happy New Year!
