Overriders - ugh
Thinking about chroming the overriders....has anyone done this? Reading various posts it seems the holes left by license plates are hard to deal with as is a repaint...thanks.
Didn't chrome them, but mine had holes that I fixed a few months ago.
Honestly, the worst part was getting them off, which is kind of a PITA. You need to get the world longest christmas trees out of the two "wings" on each one and then they should slide off.
Once off, I used some fiberglass filler on the inside and let it cure. Sanded it smooth on the front, primed and painted them. Looks like new.

I still have a love hate thing with them. I always looked at them like buck teeth! I've NEVER understood why the Jaguar powers that be chose to use those things onour XK's. They look like the terrible USA rubber over riders/bumpers we had on the XKE in the 70's, the only flaw on an otherwise flawless car!!!!
