Question Oxygen Sensor location

I have a P1646 code, and it is supposed to be for the Bank 1 linear oxygen sensor. Being an ignorant country boy, which bank is bank 1, and which sensor is the linear one. Which brand should I buy. Jeeps had problems with Bosch sensors, unless you blocked off one of the slits....Thanks in advance.....Mike

I'm not sure about the linear sensor, but I'm rather certain P1646 is fot the upstream or heated sensor on the right bank. When I replaced one on a 2000 XKR recently I bought a Denso from Rockauto. You might want to contact sng Barratt, one of the forum sponsors for a price.

Mike,

You've got to love Jaguar consistency! Cylinder numbering method has changed several times over the years.

See the bottom right drawing for Bank 1 and Bank 2 on your MY.
