Default P0010?? Resolved

heading home from work this afternoon - sitting at a stop light, I received a Restricted Performance with CEL - RP cleared when I started moving again (less than 10 seconds after coming on) but CEL still on.

Checked codes - have the 171/174 bank 1/2 lean but also have a P0010. Torque listed it as a Cam Position sensor bank 1 - DTC chart lists as VVT ckt malfunction bank A

Car ran fine rest of way home - any ideas - should I drive to indie in the am or have towed?

The P0010 may be due to a connector.

The lean codes - dare I suggest there are other threads and they're worth following?

What is the age and condition of your two VVT O-ring seals?

JagV8 - yeah been chasing the lean codes off/on with the help of the other threads - really need to do a smoke test.

Jon - just replaced the vvt seals this past spring but I think JagV8 may be on the right track with the connector. When I disconnected the cable to the vvt solenoid, the plastic between the 2 terminals is cracked/damaged - so will look at replacing the connector to see if that clears the issue.

I drove it yesterday for a bit with no issues but will drive the XE the next few days until connectors arrive

ordered these connectors from Amazon - aside from color they are an exact fit - set of 6 with pig tails for $16. They came today and I installed them. Cleared codes and will drive a few days to see if the P0010 returns.

after a week of driving (~500 miles) following replacement of the connectors - p0010 has not returned - set to resolved. Now to tackle the 171/174
