Yep I got the codes, CHeck engine light, and reduced performance displayed. I thought it was the MAF sensor cleaned it, no change. Started to look closer and low and behold the cold air duct from air filter to throttle body right at the flexible corrugated plastic, was failing. I touched it and it crumbled. I did a temporary duct tape repair. Reset the code, drove 20 miles and no check engine light Ive ordered a replacement duct. Sometime its just that simple.

I replaced mine with the Mina aluminum version for this very reason. Here's what it looks like on my '97 XK8.

 

Yep, Mina is the way to go. I installed one in April 2019 after the second OEM plastic duct began to crack at the accordion pleats after just six years. The Mina solution is final, and I like that....

 

Just curious did it make any difference in sound or performance ?

 

None that I can tell. Mina likes to tout a slight increase in horsepower but I remain skeptical. I did it solely for the permanence....
