I went to a local detailer a couple of years ago.
He told me that he could not work on the bonnet as there had been a bad blend done in the past, I had noticed this. He told me he knew a great paint company and he could get a trade deal done.
I went along and they quoted me £300 as a "special" deal. I said OK but then the salesman told me that for an extra 50 quid they could colour age match it on the computer. I said .... Oh not sure I think I would like it in the original Phoenix Red factory colour. He was persistent telling me that it would be perfection so I reluctantly agreed. I think they may have matched it to Postman Pat's van.
Luckily I now have a great local paint guru who does not believe in aged coluor matching unless you specifically request it and will restore the original Phoenix red for 200.. Just my experience of snake oil salesmen and 350 wasted .
Just wanted to make everyone aware of my experience.
My car was attacked with brake fluid long before I got it ...it was re-sprayed not too well. With the 40 deg C heat the remnants of the fluid bubbled up on the boot lid....Talked to a great bloke at a "cheap" repair shop .Take it to Fast Paint in Coventry and get it computer-matched as its not quite the right colour.
Total cost to sand back to metal and respray £500.
So I bought a second-hand boot for £80.....That it transpired had been resprayed so I have the same problem as you ...a slightly reder boot but shiny . On a car that cost £2999, I don't care .

Thanks Piston.... to be honest it is not that noticeable in normal daylight or even bright sun.. but hopeless in the garage under bulb light. I will live with it for the time being but I definitely will not go with any colour matching in future on any car. Just get the original IMVHO.
Cheers 👍
Local body shop used color matching and some kind of paint meter to do repair work.. I'm sorry about the bad experiences in here but I honestly couldn't tell, in any kind of lighting, that the left front fender and bumper had been repainted.
not to let them do a computer match on a faded or resprayed car seems stupid to me . They are bouncing light off it and seeing what spectrum is reflected. Oh that's how your eyes work .
