In the process of repairing the fuel pump in my 03 XKR and I finally got the fuel line loose under the tank. Used a long thin pry bar and the PT W83148 quick disconnect tool set from advance auto parts. The blue fitting did the job.
My dilemma is that the fuel line has come about 3/4-1 inches out but I can’t get it fully out. Is this normal? I am thinking I might be able to just move the fuel tank now and it will come free but I didn’t want to do anything stupid.
I just cannot seem to get it fully out because the metal line is fairly rigid and being blocked by the differential or another component in that region. The rubber line that connects to the metal line under the car is getting very pinched in the process.
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated and hopefully we can see if Reverend Sam’s fix does the job for this lazy to start Jag!
