Item 4 (Door Waist Rail) is the most regular fail and unfortunately, horribly expensive.

Sitting inside with the Door Card removed and the door closed, if someone can spray with a hosepipe over the roof, window and door, you should be able to see where any water is getting through.

I have no 4 not put on the car . I don't have outside one (3) in on passenger side. But I have 3,4 and 5 for driver side . they not my car yet . Also how long on average does a battery for xk8 last . I don't now if its been changed.

I'd say 3-5 years is average for a battery depending on conditions. YMMV.

The door handle seal is the black rubber seal (arrowed in red) around the perimeter of the door handle assembly:

Both driver and passenger door handles have the same type of seal.

Do you mean the Waist Railis completely missing so the door top looks like this?

If so, there is nothing to stop the door filling up with water!

I would think one of the seals is not sitting perfectly and this could be a cause of a small leak.

I found it at motorcarsltd in the US. Left JLM12031-GSK, right JLM12031-GSK. They sell for over $60. If you do some searching you will find that many have made their own or used silicon sealant.

Also listed by Welsh Enterprises:

Welsh Enterprises, Inc - Jaguar XK8 / XKR (97-06) Body Fittings Front Doors Parts

(click on the image to enlarge it)

These are Jaguar Part Numbers so they will be available from your dealer. This will almost certainly at a much lower cost than US suppliers. We pay a lot more for fuel but a lot less for parts here in the UK!

Apply some painters tape around the door handle seal and soak it good to check for a leak. Even if the bead around the edge has deteriorated it may still seal.

There's no Jaguar Dealer in the North of England has a Parts Department open on a Saturday. Useful to know there's one over the Border.
